CREW - O&R Sessions
Otto and Rick have both been dj'ing for well over 13 years and have been playing together
as a tag team for the past 6 years. O&R Sessions was formed by this duo back in
October 1999 to generate exposure to lounge music in Johannesburg.
In March of 2001 O&R where invited to play on D-Rail III. After D-Rail III they where
approached to play their unique blend of down and midtempo tunes at a number of
international events hosted at Truth, including Mother Trade, God Created Women and
Child's Play. This was followed by another appearance on D-Rail IV. Later in the year
the O&R Sessions added their touch to the highly successful Hot House event and the
Love Parade Warm Up Festival . They closed off the year playing at the Enigma Resistance
NYE party. The set included a first time one on one session with jazz prodigy,
Jonothan Crossley. You can still catch O&R every Thursday night at Cafe "C" in Greenside.
O&R Sessions is a captivating concept that infuses trip hop, house, jazz, funk, soul,
bossa and afro beats with a healthy dose of cinematic retro attitude. O&R play a one on
one set of downtempo balearic chillout moods & grooves, reminiscent of Cafe Del Mar,
Trip Hop beats, NuJazz and a touch of Bossa and Brazillian Beats, Deep Chill House sounds
and a funky blend of retro and soul sounds combined with other lucious lounge beats.
Clubs & Venues played: Area 52, Gecko Lounge, Truth, Club Ibiza, Cafe "C", Faces and
Chocolate Box.
Events played: Mother Trade, God Created Women, Child's Play, Hot House,
Love Parade Warm Up Festival, Enigma Resistance NYE and D-Rail 3 and 4.
