CREW - DJ GARETH

Gareth Francium, a.k.a DJ Gareth started his career in 1998, when his keen interest in music inspired his progression from dance floor to decks.

Ever since the days of early house music in SA, when Raves were 'full' with 500 patrons, he has wanted to express his own style. After a few short months, Gareth landed himself a spot at 96° on Sunday afternoons. His career took off when he met DJ Skye and they collaborated on their own successful brand of underground party, namely "Cooking in the Kitchen". Shortly afterwards, he was offered a set at the Italian Club's 'Black Fly' party, his first major event with approximately 2000 people in attendance. He was later approached by the Freelove Team and asked to play at the Rustlers Easter Festival 1999. Not 2 weeks later, Gareth found himself taking over from the legendary Carl Cox at Foundation in Rosebank.

Gareth went on to support Tripoli Trax DJ Ziad and Kev Bird on the JHB leg of their SA tour at Wembley Stadium. He has since played at a number of awesome Freelove events such as Shut Up and Dance and at both of BrainStorm's D-Rail parties.

Y2K has also brought about his production career and he is set to release a track of his own in the very near future.

Gareth has defined his style and plays an uplifiting funky house set, laced with the odd Hard House tune. He is constantly striving for perfection and concentrates on pleasing the crowd AND himself, a goal which we are proud to say, he has achieved time and again.

"Rare , Reative and radioactive , Francium is hard to come by "
